Russian airlines set a historic record.

In 2017, Russian air carriers transported more than 105 million passengers, which is an absolute record in the history of Russian civil aviation - the previous record was set in 2014. As follows from the data of the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia), in 2017 the number of flights reached 83%, gaining an increase of 1,9%, and passenger turnover reached 258,8 billion passenger kilometers.

It is reported that the most significant results for the 2017 year were reached by the air carrier "Russia", the volume of passenger transportation increased by 37,7%, while the top three included also such companies as "Ural Airlines" (+ 23,7%) and " Aeroflot (+ 13,3%).

How the civil aviation situation will develop this year is very difficult to guess, but given the fact that most air carriers have announced their intention to expand their route network, it is possible that the operators will be able to set new records.
