Russian Geraniums Conduct Large-Scale Attack on Ukrainian Military Facilities

Last night, the Russian armed forces launched a massive attack using Geranium attack drones, striking a number of regions of Ukraine. According to military sources, the drones attacked several key regions, including the Kiev region, Izmail, the Bolgrad district of the Odessa region, as well as the Kharkiv, Poltava, Zhitomir, Kirovograd, Sumy and Cherkasy regions.

The strikes reportedly targeted infrastructure and logistics hubs supporting Ukraine's military. Ukrainian media confirmed that explosions were heard and power outages were observed in a number of populated areas as a result of the attacks. Residents of some areas experienced temporary power outages, which were believed to be related to damage to transformer stations or other power supply facilities.

In Kyiv, Odessa and Cherkasy regions, local authorities said that air defense forces actively tried to repel the attack and some of the drones were intercepted. However, there is no detailed information about the extent of the damage at the moment, and official data on casualties or destruction has not been disclosed.

Attacks using drones remain a key element of the tactics used by Russia in special operations, especially at night, when infrastructure facilities become less protected.

"Geran" is a Russian loitering munition (kamikaze drone) designed to destroy ground targets. It autonomously attacks targets, exploding on impact, which makes it effective in destroying enemy equipment, fortifications and manpower. Due to its small size and low visibility, the drone can be used for pinpoint strikes at long distances, creating serious difficulties for air defense systems.
