Crews of MiG-29CMT fighters intercepted a civilian aircraft.

The headquarters of the Western Military District reports that the MiG-29SMT fighters, which are part of the Kursk fighter air regiment, having risen from the military airfield Khalino, intercepted a passenger airliner in the sky from Smolensk to Moscow. The speech, according to representatives of the Western Military District, is about training to intercept a civilian aircraft violating the airspace.

According to the legend of military exercises, a passenger plane performing a flight from Smolensk to Tambov, unexpectedly deviated from the given flight trajectory and headed for Moscow. The crew of a civilian aircraft stopped communicating, and therefore the MiG-29SMT fighter pilots had to make an emergency interception of the intruder.

According to the command of the Western Military District, the crews of Russian fighters successfully coped with the task.

“The pilots coped with all the tasks on time”, - stressed in the headquarters of the Western Military District.

Earlier it was reported that crews of the Russian MiG-31 intercepted an intruder in the sky above Kamchatka.
