Russian Mi-28 helicopters became the basis of Iraq's attack aircraft

Iraq is delighted with the capabilities of Russian Mi-28N attack helicopters.

The emergence of Russian attack helicopters Mi-28NE (the export version of the Mi-28H helicopter - ed.) In Iraq, provided this country with ample opportunities to strike at militants and members of terrorist groups. Thanks to the unique capabilities of these combat vehicles, the Iraqi Air Force can destroy not only the enemy's living power, but also effectively combat virtually any equipment, including armored vehicles, including tanks and self-propelled artillery. All this significantly increased the defense capability of Iraq against virtually any external threats, including in the fight against the militants of the Islamic State group (IGIL, a terrorist group whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation - note Avia.pro.).

To date, the arming of the Iraqi Air Force is 15 attack helicopters Mi-28NE, while experts do not exclude that in the near future the number of combat vehicles can be further increased.

Attack helicopters Mi-28NE have good protection against small arms, as a result of which it is perfectly suited to combat the enemy in areas occupied by them, and thanks to the presence of sights with television and thermal imaging channels, helicopters can take part in striking in night conditions and conditions of poor visibility.

* Mi-28N is a Soviet and Russian strike helicopter produced by PJSC Rostvertol, a part of the Russian Helicopters holding company, designed to search for and destroy tanks and other armored vehicles in active firing resistance, as well as low-speed air targets and manpower.
