The Russian Defense Ministry reported that Ukrainian troops made an unsuccessful attempt to seize the self-elevating drilling rig "Krym-2" located in the Black Sea. The department specified that Ukrainian military intelligence sent a naval landing force on 14 American Willard Sea Force-class boats to the rig.

As a result of the battle that began, Russian servicemen, together with the Black Sea Fleet, destroyed eight enemy boats. According to preliminary data, up to 80 Ukrainian servicemen were eliminated during the operation. The remaining six boats, without making any attempts to evacuate the wounded, left the battlefield.

The Ukrainian side has not yet commented on the incident.
