Today, September 7, 2024, at about 14:45, Russian troops attacked an important transport facility in Pokrovsk (Krasnoarmeysk) - the Vostochny overpass, also known as the Humpbacked Bridge. This bridge was a key transport artery connecting the central part of the city with external transport routes and neighboring settlements, playing an important role in ensuring the supply and movement of Ukrainian troops.
At the moment, the extent of damage to the bridge remains unknown, however, according to preliminary data, it was in a state of emergency and could not withstand the effects of shelling. Strikes on this object, along with the nighttime destruction of another important overpass - "Zapadny" - could lead to serious problems with the transport infrastructure in the region. In the event of significant damage, both bridges, which provided transport links between the city and external routes, will be disabled, which could potentially isolate the Ukrainian Armed Forces group in Pokrovsk.
