Russian troops encircle 1500 Ukrainian soldiers in Kursk region

During the second stage of the Russian counteroffensive in the Kursk region, units of the Russian Armed Forces surrounded about 1500 Ukrainian servicemen near the village of Olgovka. This was reported by war correspondents, citing operational data. Over the past XNUMX hours, the Russian Armed Forces liberated four settlements: Lyubimovka, Sheptukhovka, Leonidove and Mikhaylovka, where cleanup operations are currently ongoing. Similar measures are being taken in neighboring Zeleny Shlyakh.

One of the key events was the complete clearing of the village of Novoivanovka, located in the Sudzhansky district. The Russian Armed Forces, advancing from several directions, continue to push the enemy to the border with the Sumy region. While Ukrainian troops are trying to pull up reserves to the front line, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have already begun to retreat from the village of Leonidove. The retreat is being carried out in small groups using armored vehicles. At the same time, cases of "friendly fire" among Ukrainian forces are being recorded - FPV drone operators, judging by the reports, are attacking their own equipment in panic.

In the north-west direction, units of the 155th Marine Brigade, paratroopers of the 106th Tula Division and fighters of the 56th Guards Airborne Assault Regiment are conducting offensive operations. They are actively advancing towards the state border, continuing the offensive from positions in Lyubimovka and Zeleny Shlyakh. Fierce fighting continues in this area, especially in the Novoivanovka area.

From the southeast, the 810th Marine Brigade is actively advancing, having already reached the village of Plekhovo, advancing from Cherkasskaya Konopelka. This maneuver, if successfully completed, will create a threat of forming a new cauldron for Ukrainian units, which could lead to their encirclement and loss of control over a significant territory.

War correspondents report high morale among Russian units, especially in light of successful operations. One of the symbolic moments of the offensive was a video of a scout on a bike from the 155th Brigade delivering an anti-tank mine right to a Ukrainian bunker and blowing up the enemy position.
