Russian military correspondents reported that the Russian Armed Forces have taken control of the city of Ugledar in the Donetsk People's Republic. The Russian flag was planted in several areas of the city, which is confirmed by photos published by the military. According to Boris Rozhin, Yuriy Kotenok and Mikhail Zvinchuk (the Rybar channel), Ukrainian troops have abandoned almost all of their positions within the settlement, offering only local resistance.

The offensive on Vuhledar began about a month ago, simultaneously with active military operations in the vicinity of the Donetsk agglomeration. During this time, Russian forces crossed the river near the city and gradually advanced towards its border. In the last days of September, Russian units consolidated their positions in the southwestern part of Vuhledar, establishing control over multi-story buildings.

According to military correspondent Alexander Kots, the organized defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the city has practically ceased, and the resistance of Ukrainian troops is fragmentary. The only positions remaining under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are located outside the city limits.
