According to information coming from the front, the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk direction, aimed at reaching the rear of Russian troops in the Glushkovsky district, has lost its strength. According to military analyst Yuriy Podolyaka, at the moment Russian troops have taken the initiative into their own hands and are conducting active counterattacks in a number of key areas.
The aviation played a special role in stabilizing the situation in the Kursk direction, which worked smoothly over the past 24 hours. Podolyaka notes that it was the Russian Air Force, as in August, that had a decisive influence on the course of military operations, disrupting the enemy's plans. Along with the aviation, the courage of Russian soldiers and the reserves transferred to this area, despite the need to divert resources from other parts of the front, became an important factor.
Currently, Russian troops are conducting powerful counterattacks in the areas of the settlements of Vesyoloye and Medvezhye. As of 16:00 on September 15, 2024, Ukrainian units were driven out of these positions and are trying to hold on in the area of Obukhovka and Novy Put. However, according to Podolyaka, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have ceased offensive actions in this direction and have gone on the defensive.
Positive news is also coming from the Lyubimovka area, where Russian troops have managed to consolidate their positions in the western part of the village. Despite this, the Ukrainian army continues to counterattack, trying to dislodge Russian units from their positions. At the same time, on another section of the front, in the Olgovka area near Korenevo, Russian troops have entered the village and are fighting to hold it.
