The further fate of Ugledar, controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, is actually decided.

After the successful offensive of the Russian troops in the Ugledar direction, the units of the Russian army managed to successfully take the city in pincers from the southwestern and southeastern directions. An attack on Vuhledar from two directions at once ensures the fragmentation of Ukrainian forces, as a result of which the city can be taken by Russian troops quite quickly. In the future, this will significantly simplify the process of advancing the Russian army on the territory of the Donetsk region.

In the course of powerful offensive actions by the Russian army, the Armed Forces of Ukraine could not hold the approaches to the city. This led to the fact that now the battles are actually being fought on the territory of Ugledar. Obviously, this allows you to take the city into a semicircle and block the possibility of transferring reinforcements to this area from the Ukrainian army.

Experts draw attention to a whole series of recent successes of Russian troops. In particular, we are talking about the successful capture of Soledar, the liberation of a number of settlements in the Zaporozhye region, taking control of approaches to Bakhmut (Artemovsk), successes in the Kupyansk direction, etc. Experts note that some advancement of Russian troops is hindered by unfavorable weather conditions, due to with which, the active phase of the offensive along the entire front line can only begin.
