Complex "Resident" is used to combat UAVs.

In the Russian armed forces continues the introduction of systems to combat drones. The other day in the Eastern Military District (VVO) was tested in the work of EW "Resident". This complex of electronic warfare is designed to combat unmanned aerial vehicles.

On the course of the exercise, the TASS news agency reports that the specialists who worked with the Resident complex were able to disable the navigation system of the drones of the conditional opponent. In this case, the UAV was located a few dozen kilometers from the complex.

Simultaneously, the calculation of the complex was carried out the direction finding of the point of electronic radiation in real time and the transfer of its location to the air defense systems.

As noted, during the exercises, the soldiers of the air defense units worked out the tasks of detecting UAVs that were flying at medium and low altitudes.

In previous issues, the Military Review provided detailed information about the Resident complex. This complex can perform automated search, detection, bearing and analysis of the signals of radio emission sources. It carries out synchronous bearing, while exchanging information with a similar station. The complex also puts interference and solves other operational tasks.
