According to information provided by the head of the Black Sea Fleet's information support department, Alexei Rulev, the crew of the Russian frigate Admiral Makarov successfully shot down a cruise missile launched on it.

As follows from the information provided, we are talking about the Progress anti-ship cruise missile, which served as a target. At the same time, the crew of the warship successfully coped with the task.

“The personnel of the Utes complex were tasked with finding a detachment of a conventional enemy ships in the sea and using rocket weapons on it. Personnel of the frigate "Admiral Makarov" target was hit at a given point "- said Alexey Rulev.

The successful interception of a cruise anti-ship missile indicates that Russian warships have excellent protection and can withstand even coastal missile systems.
