According to the information and news resource "RIA Novosti", the newest Russian combat fighter Su-57 may receive a new missile. We are talking about an air-to-air missile that can seriously enhance the capabilities of a combat aircraft.

At the moment, it is known that the air-to-air missile, which the Su-57 fighter is supposed to arm, has a short range (up to 20 kilometers - ed.), But it is primarily intended for high-air combat - when its speed in 2500 km / h., it is capable of hitting targets at altitudes from 20 to 20000 meters, which can play an important role in defeating opponents.

It is known that other Russian combat aircraft are already armed with the missile, including Su-25, Su-27, MiG-29, MiG-35, etc., and it is logical to assume that this is not a novelty.

It should be clarified that, according to preliminary data, the issue of the fifth-generation Russian fighters of the Su-57 will not be of a mass character, in particular, it is reported that Russian weapons may appear from 12 to 24 combat aircraft of this model.
