After the safety briefing was revised, a new rule came into force: passengers can use any electronics throughout the flight. However, there is one prerequisite - all transmitting devices must be switched to flight mode (flight mode).

In the US, the operation of electronics during the flight was allowed at the end of 2013. Then such rules were adopted by the European Aviation Security Agency. Restrictions on the use of electronic devices in airliners were based on the likely impact of electronics on the on-board systems.
