November 10, 2013. A new enterprise is being organized in the Ulyanovsk region, the activity of which will be aimed at the production of small aircraft. The information appeared after a meeting on the development of small aircraft.

The project will be implemented by Diamond Aircraft Industries and the state corporation Rostek. Initially, the assembly of aircraft, which will accommodate 9 and 19 passengers, and engines will be established in Austria, and after that the release will start on the territory of the Ulyanovsk region.

According to information provided by Rostek, the domestic fleet needs 1310 aircraft. In 2016, they plan to organize the production of diesel aircraft, the production of which will be 60 per year. And to 2025 year they plan to create the order of 800 new airliners.

The amount allocated for the implementation of the project amounted to 7 billion rubles.
