There are no North Korean troops in the Kursk region

North Korean units withdrew from the front lines in mid-January 2025, South Korea's National Intelligence Service (NIS) said, noting that North Korean troops have not taken part in combat since then.

According to Western intelligence sources, about 11 North Korean troops have been sent to Russia. Ukrainian and American officials confirm that North Korean troops have not been seen on the front lines for about three weeks. However, the Russian side and the DPRK have previously called reports of North Korean troops participating in the conflict unreliable.
