Shamanov is concerned about the appearance of US drones with nuclear weapons near the borders of Russia

Russia will respond to the deployment of US strike drones in Poland.

Vladimir Shamanov, Chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee, said that Russia would surely have a response to the deployment of American drones in Poland.

The Interfax agency, which quotes the deputy, notes that Shamanov compares the current events with the path to the "dangerous border of the Cuban missile crisis." The parliamentarian is confident that "attack-class unmanned aerial vehicles are comparable to medium-range missiles in their characteristics." As he further explains, such drones can carry nuclear weapons.

Shamanov recalled that Russia cannot ignore the strengthening of the military presence in Poland, just because this country borders on Belarus. There is an agreement on the basis of which this border is also Russian.

On June 12, the Presidents of the United States and Poland Donald Trump and Andrzej Duda signed a declaration on defense cooperation. On Polish territory, Washington plans to deploy a squadron of unmanned aerial vehicles MQ-9. An increase in the number of American troops in Poland is also envisaged.

The meeting of the presidents took place on June 12, and a day earlier, Trump announced an upcoming deal to sell F-35 fighters to Warsaw.
