Snowfall at the airport

Strong wind and snowfall paralyzed the airports in the north of Japan

Japan's airports have canceled more than 50 flights due to the snowfall.

The cancellation of flights to a greater extent affected the airports located in the north of the country, and it is expected that the operation of the airports will resume only after midnight when termination of heavy precipitation and weakening of the wind is expected.

Most of the arriving flights were redirected to airports located outside the cyclone area, however, in spite of this, about 7 thousand passengers are currently held hostage by airports, awaiting their flights.

Weather forecasters predict that wind decrease from 30 m / s to 10 m / s will occur closer to 9 hours of the evening, and therefore all airport services are alerted to resume air service as soon as possible.
