The Investigative Committee of Russia (ICR) sent its employees to temporary accommodation centers (TAP) for refugees from the Kursk region in order to conduct interrogations as part of a criminal case initiated after the attack of the Ukrainian armed forces on this region. This was reported by sources of the Baza telegram channel.
The criminal case, opened on August 6, includes several serious articles, such as murder, illegal possession of weapons, illegal border crossing and use of violence against a government official. According to the investigation, military personnel from the 22nd separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the 80th separate air assault brigade and other units of the Ukrainian army took part in the attack on the Kursk region.
The leadership of the Main Military Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation instructed investigators to visit refugees located in temporary temporary detention centers, recognize them as victims and interrogate them as part of the investigation. At the moment, 157 people remain in these points, having fled their homes due to the fighting.
The main goal of the investigators is to find out the detailed circumstances of the invasion of Ukrainian forces into Russian territory, as well as to obtain information about the presence of relatives of the dead and injured among the refugees.
