Russia is developing a secret MiG-44 fighter.

Russia is actively developing a promising long-range intercepting aviation complex (PAK DP). If initially it was assumed that we are talking about the implementation of the MiG-41 fighter, then it is reliably known that the MiG-44 fighter is being developed, moreover, the design of a combat aircraft has been going on for several years, as indicated by the information provided by the Military University “Military-economic security of the Russian Federation: prospects for the prolongation of the START-3 agreement”.

Information on the development of the promising MiG-44 fighter was published in an article of the Military University of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in 2018, in which it is recommended to accelerate the development of the promising MiG-44 fighter.

About the project of the MiG-44 fighter to date, virtually nothing is known, except that the combat aircraft will be able to reach speeds in the 3 MAX and will be equipped with hypersonic Zircon cruise missiles, with the aim of hitting the strategic aircraft of the US Air Force.

Analysts do not exclude that the MiG-44 may relate to the very experimental fifth-generation fighter MiG-1.44, but there is no official confirmation of this fact.

It should be clarified that previously there was no information about the development of the MiG-44 fighter anywhere, however, given the data presented, it can be assumed that the development has been going on for a long time.
