China decided to create a new fighter on the basis of a Soviet airplane.

China is actively developing its military aircraft construction, presenting to the world already two models of fifth generation fighters - Chengdu J-20 and Shenyang J-31. Nevertheless, it is known that the Chinese version of the Shenyang J-31 fighter with vertical take-off and landing is being developed, based on the unique Soviet Yak-141 airplane.

The Soviet fighter Yak-141 was to become one of the most promising deck fighter aircraft with the function of vertical take-off and landing. Nevertheless, despite the uniqueness of this aircraft, it was not possible to finish it, in this connection, the project was closed. Later, the American corporation Lockheed Martin used the project of this aircraft for its own F-35 fighter.

According to the Chinese edition of Sina, the People's Republic of China decided to refine the design of the Soviet aircraft and introduce the technologies used here into a new version of the Shenyang J-31 fighter.

"Soviet designers have worked hard to create their offspring. We plan to finalize this aircraft, and introduce a similar technology into the Shenyang j-31 fighter, making it really promising and successful ", - quotes the developers of the publication "Sina".

Taking into account the information that has appeared, it can be assumed that the PRC has design documentation for the Yak-141 fighter, but there are no details on this.
