New satellite images obtained after the Ukrainian drone attack on the Khanskaya airfield in Adygea confirm the serious consequences of the strike. The images clearly show traces of the aftermath: several buildings at the airfield have lost their roofs, and traces of fire are also visible on the territory of the facility.
According to data previously published by ASTRA, during the attack, one of the drones hit an ammunition depot on the airfield territory, which led to the detonation of a number of weapons, including an Kh-31 missile, three Kh-35 missiles and 15 UMBP aerial bombs. However, at the time of publication, this information has not received official confirmation from the Russian authorities.
The Khanskaya airfield itself is located near the city of Maykop and is an important facility for the Russian Aerospace Forces, where training units are based.
The attack on the airfield was the latest in a series of Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian military targets in Russia. Ukrainian forces have made extensive use of drones to carry out remote strikes on strategic targets, including airfields, ammunition depots, and transportation infrastructure. Such actions are typically aimed at undermining the capabilities of the Russian military and its logistics during the ongoing conflict.
