It became known about the development of an American hypersonic airplane.

The US National Aerospace Agency has declassified its closed programs, one of which was related to the development of a hypersonic aircraft targeted for use in the US Air Force. In fact, this means that the idea of ​​creating a hypersonic aircraft was not as new as it is commonly believed, however, most likely due to the insufficiently developed technical base, the implementation of this project had to be closed.

The SBiDir-FW aircraft was supposed to be used in the US Armed Forces, moreover, as follows from the declassified documents, it was supposed to fly not only at subsonic and supersonic speeds, but also at hypersonic speeds, which, in fact, ensured invulnerability of this aircraft. Moreover, the highest flight speed of the SBiDir-FW hypersonic aircraft is not its key feature - this aircraft had to rotate 90 degrees at a speed of about 6-8 thousand km / h, which would make it the most maneuverable aircraft in history.

Experts believe that a hypersonic airplane should be used to inflict an instantaneous nuclear strike on the enemy, which, in fact, was to change the balance of power on the planet. Nevertheless, serious problems that have arisen with the developers, and did not allow to bring it to the test stage.

What exactly happened to the project remains unknown, however, obviously, it is a question of the power plant, as today this factor does not allow the US to create hypersonic weapons, although according to the latest data, it is already in service with Russia, the latest trials in China.

To date, it is known that a hypersonic aircraft, and we are talking about a bomber, is being developed by scientists from the PRC, who have already tested a reduced model of this aircraft in a wind tunnel, and in the near future will begin to create a prototype. This will greatly enhance the capabilities of the PRC army to protect its borders, especially since the implementation of this project is scheduled for 20-30-e years.
