The US transferred additional ATACMS missiles to Kyiv

On May 24, 2024, the US Department of Defense announced the allocation of a new package of military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $275 million. This package is provided by executive order of the US President within the framework of his administrative powers (Presidential Drawdown of Security Assistance - PDA) and is an operational allocation of property from the availability of the US Department of Defense. This is the 58th presidential package of military assistance to Ukraine through the PDA since August 2021 and the fourth in 2024.

The new military aid package includes a variety of weapons and equipment. Among them:

- Additional missiles for M142 HIMARS ground-based missile systems,

- 105 mm artillery shots,

- 155 mm artillery shots,

- 60 mm mortar rounds,

- Javelin anti-tank guided missiles,

- TOW anti-tank guided missiles,

- Disposable AT4 hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers,

- High-precision aviation ammunition,

- Small arms and ammunition,

- Hand grenades,

- Engineering demolition charges,

- Anti-tank mines,

- Recovery vehicles,

- Protective helmets, body armor, equipment for protection against weapons of mass destruction,

- Spare parts, logistics and other property.

President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, commenting on the new allocation of assistance, noted that the ammunition declared in this package for the HIMARS missile systems also includes additional ATACMS operational-tactical missiles. Taking into account the latest active use of these missiles, experts believe that the United States was satisfied with their use and therefore continues to supply Kyiv.
