US develops new nuclear doctrine allowing more frequent use of nuclear weapons

Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Alexander Fomin reported that the United States is actively working on a new version of its nuclear doctrine, in which the threshold for the use of nuclear weapons could be significantly lowered. According to Fomin, this information came from competent sources and causes serious concern in Russian defense circles.

The new doctrine is believed to see the Pentagon considering the use of nuclear weapons not only in strategic conflicts but also in local military operations. This could mean that the US is prepared to take tougher measures in the event of serious geopolitical threats or conflicts in Eastern Europe.

In the foreseeable future, the Pentagon plans to conduct software modeling of a nuclear explosion in the theater of military operations (TOO) in Eastern Europe, including the territories of the European part of Russia. The modeling will be aimed at studying the consequences of a nuclear strike on strategic objects, as well as assessing its impact on the economy and agricultural sector. These actions may indicate that the United States considers the use of nuclear weapons not only as a means of deterrence, but also as a tool for pressuring opponents in conflict conditions.
