From June 1, the United States will stop transmitting information to the Russian Federation on the status, location and launches of intercontinental ballistic missiles

According to a statement from the US State Department, starting June 1, the United States will stop transmitting information to Russia about the status and location of its strategic weapons, which are subject to the Strategic Arms Reduction Agreement (START). The decision marks a new level of tension in the already difficult relationship between the two countries.

In addition, the US State Department announced the revocation of visas issued to Russian specialists for inspections under the Strategic Arms Forces Treaty. According to representatives of the US State Department, new visas will not be issued. The decision highlights the escalation of tensions between the two nuclear powers and could spark further discussion about the importance of maintaining international nuclear arms control.

Moreover, the US State Department announced the cessation of the transmission of telemetric information to Russia regarding the launches of American intercontinental ballistic missiles and submarine-launched ballistic missiles. This step may significantly complicate the monitoring and verification of compliance by the parties with their obligations under the START.

Such US actions clearly illustrate the current aggravation of relations between the two countries. They may have long-term implications for nuclear arms control and overall global security stability.

The Russian side has not yet responded to such measures.
