US completed production of the first of 16 Mark VI boats for the Ukrainian Navy

The United States has completed the construction of the first of 16 combat boats for the needs of the Ukrainian Navy.

At the moment, it is known that the first Mark IV patrol armored boat is already ready for transfer to the Ukrainian Navy. However, the delivery is likely to take place after the construction of all the boats promised by the US is completed. At the moment, this is the first patrol boat, while the production of another 15 armored boats may take several years.

At the moment, the transfer of Mark IV armored patrol boats through the Bosphorus is impossible, since Turkey has closed the passage through the strait for ships that are not assigned to ports in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas. However, if necessary, boats can be transferred through other countries by land transport.

Mark IV patrol boats do not pose a significant threat, however, they are equipped with two 25 mm. automatic cannons, as well as machine guns, and therefore are more suitable for combating unprotected targets. At the same time, it is very likely that the Ukrainian Navy may try to use American armored patrol boats to suppress drones and missiles over the Black Sea.
