The plane that crashed in the Moscow region was not a completely imported version of the Sukhoi Superjet 100NEW-95, the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported. The crash occurred three hours after maintenance and it was the first flight after repairs.
The Gazpromavia airline owned this plane, which took off from the airfield in Lukhovitsy and was heading to Vnukovo. Before the crash, the crew gave a distress signal and the pilots tried to take the plane into the emergency circle. However, the plane crashed. There were three crew members on board, all of whom died. The crashed Superjet had been in operation since 2015.
Details of the crew members on board:
- Bulavko E. - aircraft commander
- Kharlamov V. - co-pilot
- Lukmanov M. - flight attendant
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the aircraft was not completely import-substituted, which highlights the difficulty of switching to new aircraft models with a minimum number of foreign components. An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the accident. Experts are studying the technical condition of the aircraft and the actions of the crew at the time of the incident.
