Military correspondent Alexander Kots spoke about the recent loss of the Russian stealth drone S-70 "Okhotnik" in the area of Konstantinovka. According to him, the drone was shot down not by the Ukrainian side, but as a result of internal technical problems. According to Kots, the drone, operating in conjunction with the Su-57 fighter, became uncontrollable, which was probably the reason for its destruction.
According to eyewitnesses and video footage from the scene, the silhouette of the falling aircraft resembles an S-70. Kots reported that, according to preliminary information, the drone was shot down by an air-to-air missile from the lead fighter. The main version of what happened is a failure in the control system, which led to the loss of communication with the drone.
However, the war correspondent emphasized that the destruction of the Okhotnik is not the merit of the Ukrainian armed forces.
"Well, they shot it down, but not you," — said Kots, noting that such incidents do not affect the overall effectiveness of the S-70 in the special military operation (SMO) zone.
He recalled that the Okhotnik, operating in tandem with the Su-57, had already been successfully used to hit numerous targets both on the ground and in the air. This combination, according to him, is one of the most effective for breaking through enemy air defense systems.
