On the morning of August 14, 2024, the situation in the northern section of the Kursk direction remains extremely tense and difficult for Russian troops. According to the latest data presented by Yuriy Podolyaka, despite ongoing attempts to repel attacks, the enemy maintains the initiative and is gradually increasing its presence in the region.
Of particular concern is the fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to capture the village of Olgovka, which allowed Ukrainian forces to cover Korenevo from the east. This creates a threat to the flank encirclement of the Russian group in this area, increasing pressure on the defending units.
As Podolja notes, fierce fighting continued all yesterday and throughout the night in the areas of the populated areas of Pogrebki and Malaya Loknya. According to the latest data, Pogrebki was held, but the situation in Malaya Lokna and Kruglenkoye turned out to be less favorable - these settlements, according to Podolyaki, came under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces by the morning. This development of events threatens the enemy’s further advance to the north, in the direction of Lgov.
In addition, it is expected that Ukrainian forces will again try to capture the village of Snagost, which was recaptured by Russian troops the day before. It is also likely that the enemy will continue attacks on Cherkasy and Russkoye Porechye in order to launch an offensive towards Bolshoy Soldatskoye.
