Strategic bombers Tu-22М3 urgently transferred to the Crimea

Russia has deployed Tu-22М3 strategic bombers to the Crimea in response to the deployment of a missile defense system in Romania.

A few hours ago it became known that the command of the Russian Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation transferred their strategic supersonic Tu-22М3 supersonic bombers to the military airfield in the Crimea. The reason for this was the appearance in Romania of American anti-missile defense systems (PRO), which can be used, inter alia, for attacking Russia.

The head of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, Viktor Bondarev, said that such a move on the part of Russia is forced, but it is a response for NATO, since the appearance of the Tu-22М3 in Crimea radically changes the balance of forces in the whole region.

“This step radically changed the balance of power in the region. The range of combat action of the Tu-22М3, the range of cruise missiles on board allow it to carry a warhead to any point in Europe, thereby hitting any object of enemy missile defense and air defense systems, and taking into account its modernization over the next few years to the level of MXNXXM and equipping with new types of aircraft means of destruction (presumably, we are talking about hypersonic missiles X-3М47 - approx. ed.) make it a universal means for strikes on all types of targets at a distance of thousands of kilometers "- said Bondarev.

It should be clarified that a few days ago, Russian Tu-22М3 were observed on the Black Sea, carrying out a long flight in neutral airspace.
