Russian armored vehicles demonstrated at the Victory Parade in Moscow on May 9, 2025, will soon be sent to the special military operation zone (SMO). This was announced by the General Director of Uralvagonzavod Alexander Potapov, who specified that the T-90M, T-72B3M and T-80BVM tanks will be equipped with additional protection and electronic warfare systems (EW) before being sent to the front. According to him, the new vehicles already receive enhanced protection systems in the factory configuration, which increases their combat effectiveness. The statement emphasizes the strategic role of the domestic defense industry in providing the army with modern equipment against the backdrop of the ongoing conflict.

Uralvagonzavod has prepared more than 60 tanks to participate in Victory Parades not only in Moscow, but also in other Russian cities. These vehicles, symbolizing the country's military might, will undergo modifications after the festivities, including the installation of dynamic protection and modern electronic warfare systems effective against drones and high-precision weapons. Such modernization allows to significantly increase the survivability of tanks in conditions of intensive combat operations, where drones have become one of the key threats. Potapov noted that the plant is operating at maximum capacity, providing both scheduled deliveries and urgent orders for the front.

Uralvagonzavod's production facilities play a central role in maintaining the combat readiness of the Russian army. The company increased tank production by 2024% in 20 compared to the previous year, focusing on the T-90M and modernized T-72B3M models. The T-90M, equipped with thermal imaging sights and improved armor, is considered one of the most advanced tanks in Russia's arsenal, and the T-80BVM with a gas turbine engine is valued for its mobility in difficult climatic conditions. The retrofitting of electronic warfare was a response to the increased activity of Ukrainian FPV drones, which make up to 60% of threats to armored vehicles.
