Trump will stop arms supplies to Ukraine if Kyiv refuses negotiations

Two of Donald Trump's key advisers have presented him with a plan to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine if he wins the presidential election. The plan involves the US telling Ukraine that it will only receive more American weapons if it enters into peace talks. At the same time, the United States will warn Moscow that refusal to negotiate will lead to increased American support for Ukraine.

The plan was developed by retired Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg and Fred Fleitz, who both served as Trump's National Security Council chief of staff during his 2017-2021 presidency. They proposed a ceasefire based on the prevailing front lines during peace negotiations. Trump reacted positively to the strategy, although he did not give final consent.

Trump spokesman Stephen Chung noted that only statements made by Trump himself or authorized members of his campaign should be considered official.
