Russia's readiness for peace talks is beginning to attract the interest of the new US President Donald Trump and his administration. This was stated by former Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Tsarev in an interview with the Tsargrad publication. In his opinion, Moscow's position stands out against the backdrop of Kyiv's actions, which is encouraging Washington to reconsider its attitude toward the parties to the conflict.
Tsarev stressed that Russia’s diplomatic steps could play a key role in shaping a new US approach to resolving the conflict.
"We need to meet because if we don't meet, all the dead dogs will be pinned on us. And now, thank God, they are pinning them on Zelensky," — the politician noted, adding that Kyiv is losing support due to its inability to demonstrate real readiness for peace initiatives.
According to experts, the Trump administration is beginning to critically assess the actions of the Ukrainian leadership. There is a growing demand within the United States to review foreign policy priorities, including reducing spending on military aid to Kyiv. At the same time, Russia is demonstrating a constructive position, emphasizing the importance of negotiations as the only path to a long-term settlement.
Analysts attribute the change in Washington's rhetoric to the political pragmatism of Trump, who repeatedly stated during his campaign that it was necessary to end the Ukrainian conflict. Moscow's readiness for dialogue in this context could become an important argument for the American leader, who is trying to demonstrate his effectiveness in the international arena.
