A new incident involving an attack on a British ship occurred off the coast of Yemen

The British Maritime Trade Authority announced on Monday that it had received a report of a maritime incident that occurred 91 nautical miles southeast of Aden, Yemen. In a statement, the organization said it had launched an investigation into the incident and called on ships traveling through the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden to exercise extreme caution.

The announcement follows threats from Yemen's Houthis, who previously said they intend to continue attacks on British shipping in the Gulf of Aden following the sinking of the British vessel Rubimar. Iran-backed Houthi forces have forced several companies to stop sailing through the Red Sea, forcing them to take the longer and more expensive route around Africa.

In response, US and British forces have carried out several joint strikes against Houthi positions in Yemen in recent weeks, warning of further action. Washington also expressed its readiness to deliberately attack the leaders of the group.
