Russia reproached the United States for forcibly holding the eastern part of Syria and aiding the militants.

A few months ago, information appeared that Russia may use force to bring Syrian government forces back into eastern Syriabordering Iraq and Jordan. Nevertheless, as it became known today, such plans are not yet considered by the Russian Ministry of Defense, however, Russia reproaches the United States for aiding the militants and forcibly holding the territory of a sovereign state under its control.

"They are holding a 55-kilometer-long occupied zone around At-Tanf with incomprehensible stubbornness, where XNUMX armed militants are roaming, and are preventing the disbandment of the Rukban refugee camp."- said the head of the National Center for Defense Management of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev.

It should be noted that due to the presence of the American military in eastern Syria, the SAR authorities cannot take control of the border with Jordan and Iraq, while any offensive operation of the Syrian troops in this direction is practically impossible, since the militants have a heavy weapons, which, however, does not exclude the possibility that Russia may well intervene in this situation.

"I would like to emphasize once again that Rukban is a territory illegally occupied by the United States, therefore, the entire responsibility for the living conditions of Syrian citizens in the camp rests solely with the United States.", - emphasized Mizintsev.

Previously it was reported that the positions of the Syrian military were fired at by the HIMARS complexes, which clearly indicates that the United States does not intend to admit Syrian government forces to its controlled territory.
