A new Russian adversary may emerge in the Middle East.

German Defense Minister Ursula von den Leyen announced that Germany is ready to expand its military presence in the Middle East by building its military airbase here. A similar statement was made against the background of a visit by the German Minister of Defense to the Jordanian Air Force base, and although there are no details about this, experts believe that Russia may have a new adversary in the Middle East.

According to experts, such a decision by Germany is associated with an attempt to prevent the growth of Russia's military presence in the Middle East, as well as with the aim of containing Syria and Iran. According to experts, Germany may well create a new airbase for a fighter squadron, although rather recently, German Chancellor Angela Merkel announced that she did not intend to allow tensions with Russia to grow.

Experts believe that the intentions of the head of the German Ministry of Defense are connected with pressure from Washington, which is gradually losing control over the Middle East due to the strengthening of the military presence of Iran and Russia.
