Russian avionics will have EASA certificates

03 March 2014. Russian avionics for aircraft by 2015 may enter the international market for the first time. The Ministry of Industry and Trade has summed up the results of a tender for experiments with on-board equipment to obtain the EASA international certificate. The only participant in the competition is the Radioelectronic Technologies Concern. All tests will require 3,2 billion rubles, of which 625 million will be allocated by the concern from its own funds.

Mikhail Bogatyrev, head of the department for production and creation of civil aviation equipment of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said that the structure's plans include not only import substitution, but also an increase in the export of aviation electronics. An employee of KRET explained that the concern is preparing an application for the acquisition of a certificate in the aviation interstate committee.

First of all, we are talking about electronics for the future near-medium-haul Russian passenger plane MS21. Irkut Corporation, which is the developer of this type of aircraft, plans that its first copies will appear on the market in 2016, and serial production will start in 2020. Out of 332 contracts for the supply of these aircraft, more than 50 have been concluded with foreign airlines. The price of one aircraft will be approximately $ 78 million.

Unlike MC21, another promising Russian passenger aircraft - Superjet100 - completely devoid of Russian electronics, all airborne equipment produced in France.

The designer of electronics for MC21 is planning to use its elements in the future in other models of aircraft - for example, on the military transport carrier Be200.
