Heavy British drone shot down near Russian border

A heavy British quadrocopter was shot down on the Russian border.

The day before, on May 31, a British Malloy Aeronautics T150 drone was shot down in the Kursk region, which for the first time penetrated the border region of Russia. This fact was a significant step in the scale of the conflict, since previously the Armed Forces of Ukraine used this type of unmanned aerial vehicle exclusively on the front lines.

The Malloy Aeronautics T150 model was officially transferred to Ukraine from the UK for the purpose of delivering cargo. However, as practice shows, Ukrainian military personnel actively used this technique to carry out attacks.

According to Avia.pro journalists, one 82 mm caliber mine was installed on the downed drone, and an additional repeater for control was found on the body of the device. It is assumed that the latter could be used in case of loss of the main communication channel. Russian border guards took responsibility for the destruction of the drone.

The Malloy Aeronautics T150 has significant capabilities. The drone is capable of flying up to 70 kilometers, while carrying up to three mines of 82 mm caliber. It should be noted that before being transferred to Ukraine, this type of UAV was tested in the British Marine Corps.
