Russian air carriers completed 2016 year with a loss of 10 billion rubles.

Despite the fact that 2016 turned out to be quite profitable for large Russian airlines, most carriers completed it with losses. As the statistics show, the main reason for the losses of most airlines is the cost of leasing aircraft, and it is important to take into account the fact that if on the international routes the airline profits amounted to about 23 billion rubles, then on domestic flights there is a loss of 33 billion rubles.

It should be clarified that, compared to the 2015 year, Russian airlines' losses increased by 17,6%, which requires the optimization of activities and the establishment of a new development strategy.
