On December 13, 2024, a strike was allegedly carried out on the port in Odessa, Sergei Lebedev, coordinator of the pro-Russian Nikolaev resistance, told RIA Novosti. According to him, city residents confirmed that the explosion occurred in the port area.
"Odessa, once again. Another one has arrived. They are writing that it looks like it is in the port," Lebedev said. According to local sources, the attack coincided with the declared air raid alarm, which the city's mayor Gennady Trukhanov had previously warned about.
Odessa, as one of Ukraine's largest port cities, remains a strategically important location in the current conflict. The port plays a key role in the country's export and logistics infrastructure, making it a target for attacks.
Local authorities have not yet provided official information about the exact location and consequences of the strike, but eyewitnesses report severe damage in the port area. It also remains unknown what objects were damaged, but experts suggest that the strike could have targeted warehouses, docks, or infrastructure related to maritime transportation.
