Ukraine resumes production of An-124 Ruslan

In Ukraine, they will try to resume the production of the Ruslan aircraft, replacing Russian components "with something else."

Speaking on the air of the Ukrainian TV channel Pryamoy, the first deputy director of the Ukroboronprom concern, Serhiy Omelchenko, announced the intention of the Antonov enterprise to resume the production of An-124 Ruslan transport aircraft. At the same time, Russian-made components will not be used. True, if their replacement is not provided, then Ruslan will not be able to be assembled.

Speaking about the work on preparing for the production of An-124, Omelchenko specified that his electronic system is being processed now. It is assumed that engineers and designers will adopt this system in 2019. After that, it will be possible to start assembling the first aircraft.

Omelchenko also said that the company will negotiate with international companies involved in the production of aircraft about components that can replace what was previously supplied from Russia.

It should be clarified that a little earlier, Nikolai Talikov, General Designer of Il PJSC, giving an interview to a correspondent of the Zvezda online publication, spoke about the preparation of a project for a new super-heavy Russian aircraft. This will be the new Il-106, which will replace the An-124 Ruslan.
