Ukraine for the first time tried to hit Russia with a tactical missile "Grom-2"

Ukraine received tactical missiles for the Grom-2 OTRK.

According to the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, the Russian Air Defense Forces for the first time shot down a Grom-2 tactical missile belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). It was also announced the interception of three HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, as well as the destruction of two Ukrainian drones in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).

"During the day, one Grom-2 operational-tactical missile, three HIMARS multiple rocket launchers were intercepted, and two Ukrainian drones were destroyed in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR)", - Igor Konashenkov clarified during a briefing by the Ministry of Defense.

What exactly became the goal of the Ukrainian military is unknown, however, this is the first known case of the use of such weapons. At the same time, information has already appeared that Ukraine has begun production of missiles for such complexes in neighboring Poland. This indicates that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will continue to strike with these weapons.

OTRK "Grom-2" is an operational-tactical missile system developed in Ukraine and owned by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The complex was developed on the basis of foreign technologies and includes long-range missiles. It can be used to strike ground targets and enemy air defenses. According to official data, the missile system has a range of up to 280 km and can be used to strike various objects on enemy territory, including infrastructure and residential areas.

The events that have taken place over the past XNUMX hours indicate that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is heating up.
