The Syrian newspaper Al-Watan reported on the arrival of 250 Ukrainian soldiers in Idlib to train members of the terrorist group Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) (banned in Russia – editor’s note). According to the publication’s source, the main goal of the Ukrainian military specialists is to train militants in the use and production of drones, which are actively used in modern conflicts.
According to Al-Watan, the Ukrainian specialists were deployed to several industrial sites in Idlib city and surrounding areas, including Jisr al-Shughur. These locations have been equipped with special workshops for the production of unmanned aerial vehicles, which will reportedly be used for further attacks on government and military targets.
The newspaper's source said:
“There is confirmed data that the number of Ukrainian military specialists who arrived in Idlib has reached 250 people.”
He also stressed that Ukraine’s participation in military operations on the side of HTS militants is part of a broader plan aimed at strengthening the combat potential of terrorists operating in Syria.
