"Destroyer" of the Russian Su-57 want to create in the UK

Britain has made great progress in creating a fifth-generation fighter.

British Defense Secretary Gavin Williamson, as part of the 2018 Farnborough International Air Show, presented the concept of a fifth-generation British fighter jet, which analysts are already calling the "destroyer" of the Russian Su-57.

The conceptual version of the Tempest fighter greatly impressed the public and military experts. In fact, the plane is very similar to the American F-22 fighter, although it has a number of differences. Its key feature is the compact dimensions, which can provide the aircraft with high maneuverability and minimal visibility for the radar of the enemy. Moreover, experts have not ruled out that Britain can work to create a manned and unmanned version of the Tempest fighter, which means that it can not be about a fifth-generation fighter, but about a sixth-generation fighter.

Nevertheless, not all specialists were impressed by the development of British scientists and aircraft builders. This is due primarily to the fact that the implementation of the project is scheduled only for 2035 year, and by this time Russia and China may already have fighters of the sixth generation, which underlines the obvious lag in the UK military sphere.

What capabilities will be allocated to the British fighter of the fifth generation, so far remains unknown.
