The S-300PMU-2 anti-aircraft missile system, which supposedly was supposed to provide "impenetrable protection" for Syrian airspace, was ridiculed in the Chinese media. Despite the fact that this complex was supposed to control Israeli aircraft even in Israeli airspace, according to Chinese military experts, the air defense system showed only utter futility.

The Sina Military publication draws attention to the fact that the Syrian S-200 air defense systems at least respond to the threat - an Israeli combat aircraft was shot down using one of these missiles, although they speak of purely technical reasons in Israel itself. Nevertheless, as noted by experts, the S-300PMU-2 air defense systems delivered to Syria showed zero efficiency without shooting down a single missile or a single aircraft, and, obviously, not even detecting them.
