In Crimea, they proposed shooting down NATO drones in international airspace

Crimean political expert Sergei Yukhin proposed declaring NATO reconnaissance drones conducting surveillance in neutral waters over the Black Sea as legitimate targets for the Russian Armed Forces. In his opinion, such measures are necessary to ensure the security of the southern regions of the country.

“We can and must shoot down NATO reconnaissance and strike-reconnaissance drones patrolling in neutral waters over the Black Sea. This is a matter of security for the south of Russia. Therefore, first of all, it is worth declaring them legitimate targets,” — Yukhin said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The expert emphasized that NATO long-range radar reconnaissance aircraft and drones collect information, which is then transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine to launch missile attacks on Crimea, including missiles provided by Western countries. This information is used to guide attacks on Russian targets.

Yukhin noted that the activities of NATO reconnaissance drones pose a serious threat to the security of the southern regions of Russia, including Crimea. According to him, the collected data allows the Ukrainian Armed Forces to more accurately plan and carry out missile strikes, which increases the threat to civilians and critical infrastructure.

However, Russia cannot take any real action against such aircraft, since in this case this would lead to a serious escalation. The most effective could be the use of powerful electronic warfare systems to create problems for such aircraft and UAVs.
