Nigerian authorities intercepted a Russian aircraft with a large number of weapons on board.

As it became known, the plane carried a cargo flight from the Central African Republic in the Republic of Chad, but in the course of flight the plane was intercepted by Air Force of Nigeria and at the moment the airplane is in Kano airport.

Official information about which particular type of aircraft has been detained, not, however, reported the BBC news service, there are helicopters on board the aircraft, light automotive vehicles and weapons.

The Russian Embassy in Nigeria has denied the information that the plane is Russian, however, the government of Nigeria insist on the original information. At the moment under investigation.
