On January 17, 2025, an incident with the arson of a military vehicle occurred in the settlement of Desyonovskoye in New Moscow. The UAZ Patriot with black and white military license plates was parked near one of the residential buildings when it suddenly caught fire. Eyewitnesses noticed the flames and called the fire department. No one recorded the moment of arson and there was no one in the car at the time of the fire.

Recently, cases of arson of official vehicles have become more frequent in Russia. Thus, in December 2024, in Moscow, a 65-year-old man set fire to a police car near the Arbat police department. According to the Baza Telegram channel, the detainee confessed to the crime, explaining his actions by personal motives.

That same month, in St. Petersburg, a 17-year-old girl set fire to a traffic police car on Kommuny Street. According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, the suspect was detained at the scene of the crime.

In November 2024, a 22-year-old Moscow resident set fire to the military commissariat building in Lyubertsy in the Moscow region by breaking a window and throwing a bottle of Molotov cocktail inside.

Law enforcement agencies are investigating the arson of a military vehicle in New Moscow. Various versions of what happened are being considered, including possible links to previous incidents.
