In Russia marks Day of long-range aviation

In Russia celebrates Day of long-range aviation.

The holiday affecting the long-range aviation of the Russian Federation was established in 1999, however, in fact, it itself is associated with the date of the first flight of the heavy bomber “Ilya Muromets”, which took place on December 23, 1913, and a year later, at the direction of Russian emperor Nikolay II formed a whole squadron of these aircraft, which became the first in the world.

To date, long-range aviation of the Russian Federation is still developing, and, aircraft designers, specialists work not only on optimizing the aircraft structures, but actually lead the development of new aircraft. In addition, further Russian aircraft has proven itself in the fighting in Syria, which has been fighting against the armed Islamist group "Islamic goudarstva", dealing crushing blows to the enemy positions.
